To stop water from entering this home's basement Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems installed DryTrack, a CleanSpace Wall System, and a SuperSump Pump.  The CleanSpace will create an effective moisture and vapor barrier. The wall covering forces all wall seepage and moisture to flow into the DryTrack.  The water will then be directed to the SuperSump Pump and discharged outside the home, down a discharge line.

Looking for a way to turn their wet basement into a dry, useable space, a homeowner in Shelburne, Vermont gave the waterproofing experts at Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems a call at 855-Dry-Time, for a Free Estimate.  After an estimate form one of the System Design Specialists, a plan was set and carried out to permanently make the basement dry.  Perimeter water guard drainage would go along the entire perimeter of the basement and tie into a Triple Safe Sump Pump.  Any water trying to enter the basement would now go into the perimeter drainage, drain to the sump pump, and then pump out a discharge line, away from the home.  The basement is now permanently dry and ready to use.

Flooding Basement in Shelburne, Vermont, with Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems.

The sound of rushing water filled the air as Lisa stared at the flooded basement of her home in Shelburne, Vermont. She couldn't believe the mess before her - water was pouring in from all sides, and her possessions were floating in a sea of destruction.

As she frantically tried to figure out what to do, she remembered seeing a flyer for a local company called Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems. Desperate for help, Lisa called the number on the flyer and was pleasantly surprised when a friendly voice answered on the other end.

"Hello, this is Clark from Northern Basement Systems. How can I help you today?"

Lisa explained the situation with her flooded basement and asked if anything could be done to fix it. Northern Basement Systems assured her that they specialized in waterproofing and could help to solve her problem.

Northern Basement Systems arrived at Lisa's home. They quickly got to work, assessing the damage and determining the best course of action.

The systems design technician explained to Lisa that the water was coming in through several small cracks along the footing of the foundation of her home. To fix the problem, they would need to install a waterproofing system to keep the water out permanently.

Lisa was relieved to have found a permanent solution and agreed to have the work done. The team got to work, using specialized equipment and materials to prevent further water damage.

As the team worked, Lisa couldn't help but be impressed by their professionalism and expertise. They were efficient, friendly, and seemed to know exactly what they were doing.

After several hours of hard work, the team from Northern Basement Systems successfully installed the waterproofing system. Lisa's basement was dry, and her possessions were safe.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Lisa thanked Matt and his team for their help. She couldn't believe that her basement had been a disaster just this morning, and now it was dry and protected from future water damage.

Feeling relieved and grateful, Lisa couldn't wait to share her positive experience with others. She knew that if anyone she knew ever had a flooded basement, she would recommend Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems. They had saved her home and possessions, and she would forever be grateful.

What Happens To Your Pump During A Power Failure?

Reg knows the importance of having a sump pump installed. Basement water seepage happens to homeowners all across New England. That’s why it’s important to be prepared to pump that water right back to the outdoors. Reg already knows this, there's only one thing that can stop this system from working, a power failure. If the sump pump stops, water will build up and the system will be backlogged with water. Since Reg already knows this, he decided to get a backup, battery-operated pump from Matt Clark’s Northern Basement System.

Matt Clark and his experts installed their UltraSump pumping system. The UltraSump can pump out an excess of 11,500 gallons of water on a fully charged battery. For perspective, that’s enough water to fill a small swimming pool. This pump also comes with an advanced alarm system that can sound off when a power failure occurs. This alarm has home security compatibility so you can be notified of a power failure by phone.

Reg is well protected against the water elements. He has been proactive about his basement’s safety. Matt Clark and his team are always happy to help the Shelburne community.

Basement Water Seepage? No Problem For The Experts

Elma had a problem that most homeowners experience: occasional basement water. She wasn’t sure what to do. She asked around and was eventually referred to Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems. After getting a free estimate, Elma decided to hire Matt Clark and his experts.

The experts from Northern Basement Systems took a look around and knew just what to do. They had to address several concerns. The first being how to control the water that was entering the basement. This was done by installing the Basement System’s WaterGuard system. This gutter-like system collects the water from the base of the wall. The second concern was how to get that water out of the basement. The experts installed a TripleSafe pump system. This system uses a primary pump along with two backup pumps, in case the power goes out, to channel the collected water through a discharge line that leads straight to the outdoor surface. Finally, the CleanSpace Wall System was installed. This final touch makes the basement walls look fresh and clean.

Elma can rest easily knowing that her basement will stay safe and dry. Matt Clark is an expert in the basement field. He has seen it all. Are you in a tough spot with your basement? Give Matt Clark a call and he’d be happy to come and help you through any situation you may have.

A Warmer Basement Floor with ThermalDry Tiles

James was tired of walking on a hard, cold floor in his basement. He knew he had several options but wasn’t sure which one to pursue. He did some research online and found Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems and decided to give them a call.

After conversing, the best solution for James’ basement was to lay down ThermalDry tile. The ThermalDry tile was explicitly designed for basement floors. Each tile sits on raised, plastic pegs that allow the airspace underneath to circulate water vapor. When the water vapor dries out, the flooring becomes eight to ten degrees warmer than the concrete below it. Matt Clark and his experts also let James know that the ThermalDry tiles will never rot, support mold growth, or release foul-smelling odors. The tiles are made from inorganic material so that way they won’t be damaged by a plumbing leak or basement floods. With five patterns to pick among, it’s easy to find a model that works for any basement. In James’ case, he chose the wood-like parquet style.

James won’t have to worry about walking on a hard, cold basement floor anymore. Matt Clark highly recommends the ThermalDry floor tiles for your basement. Give him a free call for a free estimate!

I have a standard ½ HP sump pump that works well but am interested in a short-term power backup system to cover occasional outages - for a few hours to one day of no household electricity (I have a generator for longer needs). Pump works frequently except peak-summer when dry. Simp runs once about every 2 hours for about 15 - 20 seconds to empty the sump into the storm drain. Ideas?

We live at the Gardenside condos. We have an unfinished basement, approx 27' x 42'. No water coming in, in our 3 summers here. We'd like the floor sealed and prepped for painting. One area, approx 14 x 27 has some cracks from willow tree roots. The tree has been removed. We keep a dehumidifier going.

We need to get an egress window placed in our basement in order for us to use our home as a rental property. We have multiple small single-pane basement windows and one would been to be converted to an egress window. Thanks!
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Just bought a house that has no crawlspace insulation what so ever, not even at the floor joists. Just a furnace, hot water heater, rock formations, some dirt, some concrete slab, concrete block, and plenty of dead former mice residents. I do plan on changing the mechanical systems eventually, but believe that work can be done before that for a better thermal envelope. It does appear to have no water issues.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Our 1890 house has a stone wall/concrete floor basement. Many, many cracks and holes in all the walls. With heavy rain we get some puddling in certain areas of the basement that is adjacent to our garage. Also have leakage in the garage. The porous nature of the walls have made the basement a haven for spiders. We are interested in understanding the process for sealing the walls and the the floor and the related costs; and what some of the alternatives, if any, might there be.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
This home is located on the lake. There is water/dampness seeping in regularly in seams/corners of the rooms in the basement. There have been a few occasions when there has been up to 2" of water in the basement. We have constant dehumidifiers draining, but need a more permanent solution as we are concerned about mold.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We occasionally have water diffusing up through our concrete basement floor. It is typically in the spring, but when there is a lot of rain later in the summer, it also may occur. It is on the down-stream (west) side of the basement and we are on the eastern shore of Shelburne Bay. There is an operational sump pump in the northwest corner in a hole through the floor than nearly always has some water in it, but always well below the floor level (below 6" from floor level, I'd guess), even when the seepage occurs, and it has never filled sufficiently to trigger the pump; the pump does work.
