To turn a wet and extremely damp basement in Waterbury, Vermont, into a clean, dry, useable space, Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems used a variety of patent waterproofing products.  First, a perimeter Water Guard Drainage System goes along the edge of the basement walls.   Next, a new sump pump whole goes in at the lowest point of the basement floor.  After a Triple Safe Sump Pump sets in the whole and ties into the drainage system.  Next, a  Clean Space Wall System goes along all of the basement walls and is tied into the drainage system, bringing any wall seepage to sump pump and providing an excellent vapor barrier.  After, a state-of-the-art Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier and air filtration system installs next to and ties directly into the sump pump.

  • Basement Waterproofing
  • Sump Pump Installation
  • Leaking Crack Repair
You Receive:
  • 1-2 Day Installation
  • Lifetime Warranty

You also have the option to have an energy-efficient basement dehumidifier installed. This prevents the future growth of mold. Our work comes with a lifetime, dry basement warranty!

Crawl Space Repair & Encapsulation

You can have a clean, protected crawl space in your Waterbury home - we make sure of it. By sealing the area, encapsulating it with a vapor barrier and installing a crawl space sump pump we prevent water in the crawl space. Our system works and we know it as we provide a warranty on our system for 25 years.

You Receive:
  • Clean, Protected Crawl Space
  • 25-year Warranty
  • Level Floors above Crawl Space
We Use:
  • Vapor Barrier

  • Crawl Space Support Jacks

Similar to basements you also have the option to install an energy-efficient dehumidifier in the crawl space to prevent future mold growth or rot. If the floors above the crawl space are sagging we can fix them with industrial grade support jacks lifting the floor back to a level position.

Commercial Concrete Lifting & Repair

If you have a sunken driveway, patio, or sidewalk at your Waterbury property, we can lift the concrete back to a level position. We inject PolyLevel, an expansive polyurethane foam, beneath the concrete slabs through small drilled holes. The foam expands lifting the concrete and providing a strengthened foundation.

We fix:
  • Sinking Driveways
  • Unlevel Patios & Sidewalks
  • Sunken Garages
Why PolyLevel:
  • Lighter than Slurry
  • Doesn't Erode
  • Cures Faster

PolyLevel is also superior to traditional slab jacking or mudjacking using concrete slurry. PolyLevel is much lighter so as not to put additional weight on a weak soil base. It is injected through much smaller holes in the concrete.  It cures much faster than concrete slurry and does not erode.

Job Stories From Waterbury, VT
Triple Safe Pump and Water Guard in Waterbury, Vermont

The basement of the owners building had some major issues.  There was constant water coming in, making it very humid and wet.  This led to major mold problems, which made it a non-ideal area to store anything. Also, because of the wet basement, the support beams were rusting out.  Looking to take back control of their basement and make it a usable space, the owners contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems1-855-DRY-TIME  After an inspection from one of Matt's experienced System Design Specialists, Brian Kiniry, the decision was made to install a variety of products.  The first step was to install the WaterGuard Drainage System-it includes wall flange with 3/8" opening to collect water from the walls and will not clog with mud because it sits on top of the footing, away from the "mud zone" underneath the floor.  Second, a TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed.  The System is equipped with three separate pumps, one primary, one secondary, and one battery back up.  This gives the owners extreme confidence that their basement will remain free of flooding.  Next, the crew put in a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.  Our SaniDry Sedona is the world's most efficient, high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system, without a bulky heat exchange core.  It filters mold spores, dust mite droppings, and other particles making the air very clean to breathe.  To fix the rusted out support beams the team took out the existing beams and installed our cast iron Smart Jacks

Solving Waterbury Basement's Insulation & Moisture Problems

Karl had a dug basement. He was interested in improving its insulation and moisture control. He had heard of Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems before and decided it was time to give them a call.

When Matt Clark and his experts arrived at the Karl’s house, they knew just what to do. The experts installed their CleanSpace liner, CleanSpace Drainage Matting, a SmartDrain system and SaniDry CX. The first four installations helped better control the insulation issue. The SaniDry CX system helps keep the basement’s moisture at a low, healthy level. Put them all together and Karl now has one safe, dry basement.

Matt Clark was happy to help Karl. Matt let Karl tell him what he wanted and listened to his needs. Matt understands the importance of his work but relaying it to the customer is just as important. At the end of the day, Karl has peace of mind knowing that his basement will be dry for years to come.

Keeping The Crawlspace Dry & Stable in Waterbury, VT

Dina had an old house. She had her crawlspace foam-insulated only to later find that moisture started to build up on the beams which supported the crawlspace. She figured this could lead to future problems but wasn’t sure what to do. After looking online, she found Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems. She decided to reach out and give them a call.

Matt Clark and his team of experts agreed to inspect the crawlspace and give Dina a free estimate. The crawlspace was in need of several installations. The experts installed a SmartDrain to catch and help identify future plumbing leaks. They also installed their CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system around the perimeter of the crawlspace. They installed CleanSpace Drainage Matting under the CleanSpace liner. Finally, they installed two SmartJacks at the center of the support beam’s junction to increase its stability. With all these installations in place, Dina’s crawlspace was much sturdier and drier than before.

Dina made the right choice by reaching out to Matt Clark. Matt is an expert and has seen hundreds of crawlspaces throughout his career. Him and his team and dedicated to keeping the Waterbury community safe and dry.

We have a diagonal foundation crack (concrete) in one of our units. Hoping to get it checked out soon so we know if it's a problem come spring and how much it will take to address the issue.
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
Our concrete basement recently flooded via the drain pipe. Recent floods saturated the ground and clear water was coming up through the drain pipe for days. We kept it at bay with borrowed sump pumps and its now in the "dry out" phase. We have never had an issue with water or moisture in our basement in the ten years we've lived here, but want to be prepared the next time we get heavy rains and snow melt like this past week. Our house is approx 1100 sq ft and the basement is the footprint of the house used for storage and laundry. We'd love some opinions on what we can do so this doesn't happen again.

Wet.basement we were in the flood and have some concerns!!
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
My house was in the recent flood and flooded my basement with about 6 feet of water. I am hoping to get an inspection and estimate for damages, especially of the foundation. The flood adjuster mentioned needing to replace the spray foam in my basement. The hole that houses the sump pump is full of mud and I'm not sure what the flooring should look like. I also am worried about a crack in the garage floor that grew after the flood.
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
I have many a crack in my foundation and they are leaking like a sieve with all this flooding we just experienced. I was going to seek out a service like yours when I first bought the house in October of 2022 and now I wish I had!
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
Hi. We would like to get our basement sealed sometime in August. Primary concerns are dampness and flooding every 3-5 years (couple inches) in the springtime. The size of the basement is about 20x25. We would like to eventually have the basement partially finished. We're available for a walk through between June 29 and July 3. Thank you!
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
Repeated issues with current sump pump system. Clogged drainage pipes, etc. Would like to reevaluate entire system. Would like to consider battery powered back up Issue seems to stem from some type of clay that builds up from the drained water in the pipes. This has led to clogged pipes and sump pump burn out.

This is a child care center and we had our basement waterproofed about 6 years ago. It now has some mud inside and we are not sure where it is coming from and would like to have someone come out and take a look and give us a quote on how to fix it. Thank you.
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
I found some mold in the corner or my garage (furthest from the dehumidifier), and the upon further inspection noticed it in other places around the garage. I'm not sure how to safely clean it up, and prevent it from coming back in the future.
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
I would like to replace my sump pump with an automatic one with a backup battery and a dehumidifier that drains to that automatically. I would also like to see if anything can be done about the water that comes into the basement.
Project Location: Waterbury, VT
We have a walk in basement and I empty a dehumidifier at least twice a day. The dehumidifier makes the basement warm and it gets tiring of emptying it so frequently.

We are trying to purchase 114 Bolton Valley Access Road. An inspector came in and indicated that 14 ft. of the limestone mortar foundation is bowing and will need repair/replacement. Cracks and holes have been treated with alternate material and the limestone mortar is disintegrating. I am looking for a quote on this, if you are familiar or work with limestone mortar foundations.
