Matthew began working for Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems in 2017. Prior to his position with Northern Basements, Matthew was a crew leader for projects that included the water proofing of foundations and roads. He brings his prior experience and knowledge of waterproofing to Northern Basement Systems to perform a vast number of jobs. The WaterGuard will go along the perimeter of the basement collecting any water seepage or static pressure water. First Northern Basement Systems installed a CleanSpace Wall System. The CleanSpace Wall System uses a thick (20mil) white poly sheet material to completely cover basement foundation walls. CleanSpace is installed by fastening the material to the rim joist atop the foundation wall, and by installing press-fit plastic fasteners into the masonry. As part of your waterproofing system, it creates an effective moisture and vapor barrier. The wall covering forces all wall seepage and moisture to flow into your perimeter drain system. The first pump is a heavy-duty 1/3 horsepower (HP) cast-iron Zoeller pump that does most of the pumping, handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour. The second pump is a 1/2 HP pump that operates automatically if Pump 1 fails or if greater pumping volume is needed (up to 6,200 gallons per hour). The third pump is a battery-operated pump that turns on automatically if power fails.

Heavy duty, galvanized earth anchors are embedded in stable, undisturbed soil outside your foundation wall. Each anchor is connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that provides clamping pressure against the inside of the foundation wall.
