Matthew began working for Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems in 2017. Prior to his position with Northern Basements, Matthew was a crew leader for projects that included the water proofing of foundations and roads. He brings his prior experience and knowledge of waterproofing to Northern Basement Systems to perform a vast number of jobs. Whether it's jackhammering, digging pump holes, or installing systems you will always find a smile on his face because, like all of our employees, he enjoys the people he works with and the job he's performing. The customer wanted their basement dry and to turn it into a usable space. The WaterGuard will go along the perimeter of the basement collecting any water seepage or static pressure water. First Northern Basement Systems installed a CleanSpace Wall System. The CleanSpace Wall System uses a thick (20mil) white poly sheet material to completely cover basement foundation walls. CleanSpace is installed by fastening the material to the rim joist atop the foundation wall, and by installing press-fit plastic fasteners into the masonry. As part of your waterproofing system, it creates an effective moisture and vapor barrier. The wall covering forces all wall seepage and moisture to flow into your perimeter drain system. The white poly surface eliminates the need to paint basement walls, providing a bright, stain-resistant finish that never needs repainting or maintenance.
Next, WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect any water seepage from the wall to the WaterGuard. Finally a SuperSump Plus was installed to pump out any water in the WaterGuard. The SuperSump will take all of the water out of the basement and pump it away from the house down a discharge line. Because of our customer's foundation being monolithic, meaning that the floor and footing were poured as one piece, they needed to have a DryTrak Floor Drain installed, insted of the water guard. The Dry Tak is used when Jack Hammering is not an option. The DryTrak will completely waterproof the basement and make any water divert to the Super Sump Pump System. The pump then discharges the water our away from the house down a discharge line.
When the old sump pump in the basement couldn't handle the amount of water entering the basement the homeowner contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems, to set up a free estimate. After meeting with a system design specialist they decided the best way to keep the basement dry was to replace the old pump with a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe has three separate motors. The first pump is a heavy-duty 1/3 horsepower (HP) cast-iron Zoeller pump that does most of the pumping, handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour. The second pump is a 1/2 HP pump that operates automatically if Pump 1 fails or if greater pumping volume is needed (up to 6,200 gallons per hour). The third pump is a battery-operated pump that turns on automatically if power fails.

Heavy duty, galvanized earth anchors are embedded in stable, undisturbed soil outside your foundation wall. Each anchor is connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that provides clamping pressure against the inside of the foundation wall.
