To stop water from entering this home's basement Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems installed DryTrack, a CleanSpace Wall System, and a SuperSump Pump.  The CleanSpace will create an effective moisture and vapor barrier. The wall covering forces all wall seepage and moisture to flow into the DryTrack.  The water will then be directed to the SuperSump Pump and discharged outside the home, down a discharge line.

Looking for a way to turn their wet basement into a dry, useable space, a homeowner in Shelburne, Vermont gave the waterproofing experts at Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems a call at 855-Dry-Time, for a Free Estimate.  After an estimate form one of the System Design Specialists, a plan was set and carried out to permanently make the basement dry.  Perimeter water guard drainage would go along the entire perimeter of the basement and tie into a Triple Safe Sump Pump.  Any water trying to enter the basement would now go into the perimeter drainage, drain to the sump pump, and then pump out a discharge line, away from the home.  The basement is now permanently dry and ready to use.

What Happens To Your Pump During A Power Failure?

Reg knows the importance of having a sump pump installed. Basement water seepage happens to homeowners all across New England. That’s why it’s important to be prepared to pump that water right back to the outdoors. Reg already knows this, there's only one thing that can stop this system from working, a power failure. If the sump pump stops, water will build up and the system will be backlogged with water. Since Reg already knows this, he decided to get a backup, battery-operated pump from Matt Clark’s Northern Basement System.

Matt Clark and his experts installed their UltraSump pumping system. The UltraSump can pump out an excess of 11,500 gallons of water on a fully charged battery. For perspective, that’s enough water to fill a small swimming pool. This pump also comes with an advanced alarm system that can sound off when a power failure occurs. This alarm has home security compatibility so you can be notified of a power failure by phone.

Reg is well protected against the water elements. He has been proactive about his basement’s safety. Matt Clark and his team are always happy to help the Shelburne community.

Basement Water Seepage? No Problem For The Experts

Elma had a problem that most homeowners experience: occasional basement water. She wasn’t sure what to do. She asked around and was eventually referred to Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems. After getting a free estimate, Elma decided to hire Matt Clark and his experts.

The experts from Northern Basement Systems took a look around and knew just what to do. They had to address several concerns. The first being how to control the water that was entering the basement. This was done by installing the Basement System’s WaterGuard system. This gutter-like system collects the water from the base of the wall. The second concern was how to get that water out of the basement. The experts installed a TripleSafe pump system. This system uses a primary pump along with two backup pumps, in case the power goes out, to channel the collected water through a discharge line that leads straight to the outdoor surface. Finally, the CleanSpace Wall System was installed. This final touch makes the basement walls look fresh and clean.

Elma can rest easily knowing that her basement will stay safe and dry. Matt Clark is an expert in the basement field. He has seen it all. Are you in a tough spot with your basement? Give Matt Clark a call and he’d be happy to come and help you through any situation you may have.

A Warmer Basement Floor with ThermalDry Tiles

James was tired of walking on a hard, cold floor in his basement. He knew he had several options but wasn’t sure which one to pursue. He did some research online and found Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems and decided to give them a call.

After conversing, the best solution for James’ basement was to lay down ThermalDry tile. The ThermalDry tile was explicitly designed for basement floors. Each tile sits on raised, plastic pegs that allow the airspace underneath to circulate water vapor. When the water vapor dries out, the flooring becomes eight to ten degrees warmer than the concrete below it. Matt Clark and his experts also let James know that the ThermalDry tiles will never rot, support mold growth, or release foul-smelling odors. The tiles are made from inorganic material so that way they won’t be damaged by a plumbing leak or basement floods. With five patterns to pick among, it’s easy to find a model that works for any basement. In James’ case, he chose the wood-like parquet style.

James won’t have to worry about walking on a hard, cold basement floor anymore. Matt Clark highly recommends the ThermalDry floor tiles for your basement. Give him a free call for a free estimate!

Work Requests From Shelburne, VT
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We occasionally have water diffusing up through our concrete basement floor. It is typically in the spring, but when there is a lot of rain later in the summer, it also may occur. It is on the down-stream (west) side of the basement and we are on the eastern shore of Shelburne Bay. There is an operational sump pump in the northwest corner in a hole through the floor than nearly always has some water in it, but always well below the floor level (below 6" from floor level, I'd guess), even when the seepage occurs, and it has never filled sufficiently to trigger the pump; the pump does work.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We have a long crack in the slab of our home that appears to have a void underneath. We are seeking a concrete foundation/slab professional to come out, assess the issue and advise us what we should do next, if anything at all. Many thanks in advance.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Interested in an estimate to repair our concrete patio. Currently it's cracked and sinking.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
One corner of basement leaks water at base of foundation in the springtime (also right now)--the leak is near the sewage pipe. Also in that corner is an old pedestal sump pump that receives water from a channel cut into the concrete floor. I want to seal off the leaking area as well as make the area nicer looking with a more modern sump system
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Water leaking in the basement after heavy and sustained raining (24+ hours).
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We have an old house in Shelburne and the basement is impossible to describe! There is always standing water in the rear addition which has a cement block foundation. There are 2 sump pumps, one in each area. The main house was moved years ago onto a poured foundation, which is always damp. There is another addition which was built on blocks - no foundation! We could use some advice on our options. Thanks,
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
I discovered a crack in the foundation of my home. Over Halloween weekend when it rained for 2 days, I found a puddle of water in my basement. I do not have a sump pump and in 25 years of home ownership, this is only the 3rd time I've had water seepage in the basement.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We need a sump pump system installed in our basement floor. We occasionally have flooding during long heavy rains. We really need to replace all the pipes going from our foundation drain to the storm water catch basin under our street, but in the meantime we want to have a system in place that can automatically detect and pump excess ground water away from our house/foundation drain.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We have an unfinished crawl space/basement, concrete frost walls and a poured floor. We have noticed an almost constant wet spot in one corner that we would like looked at and fixed. We are worried about the constant water penetration causing damage to the foundation and it being a source of mold growth.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Planning to finish a portion of our basement. Would like to explore egress window and retaining wall installation options to permit larger the placement of a non-egress window in basement.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Water enters our basement along one wall that faces west. This has happened previously, but has become more frequent. I would like to explore options for how to address this from the inside as I believe this is most practical
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Egress window for basement, replace two standard windows and possible waterproof
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
For the first 16 of 19 years we have lived here we never had any hint of water seepage. Now we just experienced our second flooding due to the very excessive rain on Halloween. The firs was in 2017. There is a swale in the wooded area behind our house which we share with 3 other homes. It had knee deep water which forced the water table above the floor of our concrete basement. We are thinking we need a sump pump to help handle the problem. Thanks!
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
I would like to have a battery-powered backup sump pump system installed.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Water seeps into basement, cracks in basement cinder black wall.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
I just bought a house that was built in 1982. There are cracks in the sheetrock of every room. Before I remodel, I'd like to make sure there won't be any more movement in the floors. Maybe it's normal house settling, or maybe the house could use more structural support. Also there is a large crack in the slab of the garage. Thanks
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We need a sump pump system. Ideally a system with a battery backup component.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
I'm interested in finding out how much it would cost to have a battery backup sump pump installed in our basement (or the cost of a range of options), as well as what it takes to maintain such a system.
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
Scaling inside and out of basement foundation
Project Location: Shelburne, VT
We get a slight amount of water on the southside of our home when we have heavy periods of sustained rainfall. This is usually worse if the gutters aren't clean, but we were interested in learning to see if there's more we can do to prevent the water in the basement than our current situation.
