The basement had visible staining along the block foundation walls, signs of seepage, and damp conditions around the floor and wall joints. During the inspection, Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems evaluated the basement walls, floor, drainage needs, and humidity concerns. The team identified areas where water had been entering. It determined that the home needed a more complete waterproofing system to collect water and help move it out of the basement. To solve the problem, the crew installed an interior perimeter drainage system along the affected areas of the basement. Drainage stone was added around the system, and fresh concrete was placed over the repaired sections to create a cleaner, finished surface. A SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed to help manage basement humidity. This is an important part of the system because even after water is collected and removed, damp air can still leave the basement feeling wet and uncomfortable if it is not controlled. The team also addressed wall concerns with reinforcement materials where needed. With the waterproofing system, improved drainage, new concrete, and humidity control in place, this basement is now much better prepared to handle water before it becomes a bigger problem.
