A homeowner in Danville, Vermont was burdened by a wet basement and a nasty odor throughout the home. The odor was due to the very high humidity level in the basement. Most of the airflow of your home comes up from the basement. If your basement has a higher humidity level it will bring out any of the basement smells and flow it from the basement up through the home. The homeowner was tired of dealing with the water and the smell. They did their research and found that Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems was far and beyond the most trustworthy and reliable company around.
They called 855-DRY-TIME and set up their FREE ESTIMATE. After the inspection, by one of Matt's System Design Specialist, a plan was put forth to permanently keep the basement dry and to abolish the nasty basement odor. Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems first installed a CleanSpace Wall System. This will cover all of the walls in the basement Unlike paint and materials that adhere to the walls, CleanSpace Wall is mechanically attached to your basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners so it will never fall off the wall. CleanSpace Wall will never chip, peel, or flake away from the concrete as paints and sealants will. Any water seepage coming through the wall will be directed down into your WaterGuard Drainage System. The WaterGuard System will take any water entering and direct it to the newly installed, state-of-the-art TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe has three separate pumps. the primary pump is a heavy-duty 1/3 horsepower (HP) cast-iron Zoeller pump that does most of the pumping, handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour. The second pump is a 1/2 HP pump that operates automatically if Pump 1 fails or if greater pumping volume is needed (up to 6,200 gallons per hour). The third pump is a battery-operated pump that turns on automatically if power fails. The TripleSafe will pump out the water to an IceGuard System. The IceGuard System allows water to escape from a sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. Even if the pipe outlet is buried under a foot of ice and snow, the water can escape, allowing your sump pump to keep your basement dry. When the discharge pipe thaws, the water will automatically run along its normal route, and no water will escape from the IceGuard. To finalize the job and really contribute to putting an end to the nasty basement smells, a state-of-the-art Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. The Sedona is EnergyStar certified and will keep the basement at an optimal 55% humidity. The Sedona has a drainage tube that drains directly into the WaterGuard Drainage System so you never have to worry about dumping water collected.
