Basement Waterproofing in Eden Mills, Vermont | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in Eden Mills, Vermont, was dealing with water intrusion in the basement. The walls showed staining from previous moisture, and water was entering the space enough to make the basement less usable. The homeowner needed a dependable waterproofing system that could collect water at the perimeter, manage floor-level water entry points, and remove it from the home.
During the inspection, our team identified signs of water intrusion along the basement walls and floor. The wall staining showed where moisture had been an issue, and the floor area needed a system that could collect water before it spread into the usable basement space. The basement also had an area where a surface drain would help capture water across an open section of floor.
Solution
Northern Basement Systems installed a full interior waterproofing system designed to manage water from multiple entry points. The system included CleanSpace Wall System along the walls, interior basement drainage around the perimeter, TrenchDrain across the floor area where surface water needed to be collected, and a TripleSafe sump pump system to remove the water from the basement.
Products Installed
- CleanSpace Wall System
The CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the basement walls to help create a cleaner, brighter wall surface while working with the waterproofing system. When water enters through the foundation wall, CleanSpace helps direct it down into the drainage system rather than allowing it to continue staining the walls or spreading into the basement. - Interior Basement Drainage System
The interior drainage system was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect water at the base of the foundation wall. Once water enters the drainage system, it is directed to the sump pump system so it can be removed from the basement before it reaches the main floor. - TrenchDrain
TrenchDrain was installed to collect surface water across an open floor area. This is especially helpful in spots where water can enter or travel across the floor before reaching the perimeter drainage system. The drain captures that water and directs it into the waterproofing system. - TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe sump pump system provides three levels of pumping protection. The primary pump handles normal water removal, the secondary pump provides additional capacity during heavier water events, and the battery backup pump helps keep the system running during a power outage. This gives the homeowner a more dependable setup than a single-pump system. - Exterior Discharge Line
The exterior discharge line carries water from the TripleSafe sump pump system to the outside of the home. This completes the waterproofing system by moving collected water away from the basement and foundation.
The completed system provided the homeowner with a cleaner basement and a more reliable way to manage water intrusion. Water entering through the walls or floor can now be collected, directed to the TripleSafe sump pump system, and discharged away from the home. The CleanSpace Wall System also improved the basement's appearance by covering stained walls with a bright, clean surface. This Eden Mills basement waterproofing project shows why a complete system is often the best approach for water intrusion. By combining CleanSpace Wall System, interior drainage, TrenchDrain, a TripleSafe sump pump system, and an exterior discharge line, Northern Basement Systems helped create a basement that is cleaner, more usable, and better prepared to handle water.
