Finished Basement Water Damage in East Wallingford, Vermont | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in East Wallingford, Vermont, was dealing with water concerns in a finished basement. Sections of the finished wall had been removed, exposing the block foundation behind it. The basement had flooring, ceiling panels, windows, and living-space features, so water problems were creating both a functional issue and a disruption in the finished area.
The homeowner needed a basement waterproofing solution that could collect water at the perimeter, direct it to a dependable sump system, and help protect the basement walls moving forward.
Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems inspected the basement and identified the affected wall and perimeter areas requiring water protection. The team also reviewed the best location for a sump system and discharge route. Because the basement was already finished, the system needed to be installed carefully around existing flooring, wall framing, utilities, and finished surfaces. The solution had to manage water at the foundation level while leaving the space ready for repairs and refinishing afterward.
Solution
The crew installed a perimeter drainage system along the affected wall to collect water before it could spread across the basement floor. The drainage system was connected to a TripleSafe sump pump system, giving the basement a powerful and reliable way to move water out of the home. A CleanSpace wall liner was installed along the foundation wall to help direct wall seepage into the drainage system and create a cleaner, brighter appearance. Fresh concrete was placed over the drainage area after installation.
Outside the home, a LawnScape outlet was installed to move discharged water away from the foundation.
