Challenge
This Concord, New Hampshire, homeowner faced multiple basement concerns. Water intrusion and high humidity made the basement damp and uncomfortable, and one foundation wall showed signs that it needed additional structural support. The homeowner wanted a comprehensive solution that addressed both the water problem and the compromised wall. Our team inspected the basement, foundation walls, drainage needs, and exterior discharge area. We determined the basement would benefit from a complete waterproofing system and humidity control. The affected foundation wall also required stabilization to prevent further movement.
Solution
Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems installed a combination of waterproofing, moisture-control, drainage, and foundation-repair products designed to work together.
The CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the basement walls to provide a clean, bright wall covering while directing water entering through the foundation down into the waterproofing system.
A TripleSafe sump pump system was installed to collect and remove water from the basement. Outside the home, we added IceGuard fittings to the discharge line to provide an emergency escape for water if the buried line becomes blocked or freezes. The discharge was then carried away from the foundation and released through a LawnScape outlet.
To control basement humidity, we installed a SaniDry high-performance dehumidifier. Unlike a typical portable unit, SaniDry is designed specifically to maintain healthier humidity levels throughout basement and crawl space environments.
Finally, we installed PowerBrace supports along the affected foundation wall. These heavy-duty steel I-beams provide permanent stabilization without requiring exterior excavation and can help prevent additional inward movement of the wall.
