Water intrusion was threatening the finished basement of this South Newfane, Vermont home. Our crew carefully removed the lower portion of the finished walls to install a complete waterproofing system, then sistered the existing 2x4 studs so the wall sections could be easily rebuilt after the work was completed.

This West Townshend, Vermont, basement had water intrusion concerns along the foundation walls and floor, with visible moisture staining and damp basement conditions. Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems installed a complete waterproofing system with interior drainage, drainage stone, fresh concrete, and a SaniDry dehumidifier to help collect water, manage moisture, and create a drier basement environment.

The Stowe Visitor Information Center was experiencing heat loss through the floors, making it uncomfortable to stand in this area. They contacted Matt Clark and his team at Northern Basement Systems! Our installation specialists spray foamed the area using closed-cell spray foam insulation. 

Closed-cell insulation is about 3-4 times as dense as open-cell foam, and it provides an R-value of 6-7 per inch which means it has higher R-value per inch when compared to open-cell spray foam. Additionally, closed-cell spray foam adds strength to the building structure, seals off air to prevent air exchange, forms a moisture barrier, blocks and absorbs sound, and has a greater resistance to the leakage of air or water vapor. 

This product will seal off the cold air from the floor making this space much warmer and more comfortable for the visitors and employees!
