The customer in South Hero, Vermont was interested in weatherizing his crawl space. He had noticed the floor constantly being chilly and wanted to put an end to it. He contacted the pros at Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems and learned the best way to fix the problem was to encapsulate it with CleanSpace.
The owner also decided to have Northern Basement Systems install a SmartDrain. Northern Basement Systems removed debris from the space, installed a SmartDrain, and a CleanSpace encapsulation system including drainage matting and a liner. This transformed the crawlspace from dirty and cold to a clean and warm space.
This crawl space was dirty, poorly insulated, and seasonally wet and humid. The team at Northern Basement Systems were able to provide the homeowner with a FREE estimate to discuss her concerns and evaluate the space to be able to meet her needs. Our team then proposed and installed a solution to transform the space!
First, the space was sealed with our crawl space encapsulation system called CleanSpace, to lock out water and debris. This system was then paired with a SmartSump Pump System that's specifically designed for crawl spaces to keep them dry and free for puddling water. Additionally, our team suggested a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to reduce moisture to prevent the growth of mold. Lastly, our team used spray foam insulation to insulate the rim joist area to eliminate cold air drafts and cold floors.
With these systems in place, with crawl space is sealed, free of dirt and water, and warmer! Call 855-DRY-TIME to transform your home's crawl space into a healthy space!

The homeowner in Georgia, Vermont had experienced water damage in their basement. The majority of the basement had carpeted floors, which got the worst of it. They also received damage to the lower parts of their walls, that was drywalled. The owner contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems in search of a way to refinish their basement with products geared more to waterproofing and looking good. Matt's System Design Specialist introduced the family to a couple of different products, that would both look good and withstand the potential of water damage. Matt's team fixed the lower drywall areas with an Everlast Wall Restoration System and replaced the old wet carpet with brand new Thermal Dry Carpet. The Everlast Wall Restoration System provides a solution for homeowners who have experienced wet, damaged or moldy walls in their finished basement, and protects against any future damage. This wall system includes metal studs and an inorganic, mold-resistant wall product that replaces the bottom 32" of your home's drywall. An inorganic base molding and decorative chair rail make this an appealing, long-lasting solution. The ThermalDry Carpeting doesn’t roll out over the floor; it’s manufactured in square tiles that snap together. With ThermalDry carpet tiles, there’s no foam pad to soak up water. Instead, there’s a waterproof plastic base designed with a built-in drainage plane and thermal break. Water drains through ThermalDry carpet rather than soaking in, eliminating worries about mold, mildew and moisture damage.
