Basement Repair in Burlington, Vermont, by Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems.
Challenge
A homeowner in Burlington, Vermont, was facing significant basement issues, including persistent water intrusion and structural concerns due to bowing foundation walls. To address these challenges, they enlisted the expertise of Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems, a renowned company for its proficiency in basement waterproofing and foundation repair.
Solution
After a full inspection, our team proposed a comprehensive repair plan that would both waterproof the basement and stabilize the failing foundation walls.
Basement Waterproofing System:
-
We installed our trusted WaterGuard® interior drainage system along the perimeter of the basement floor to collect and redirect water to a new sump pump system.
-
A CleanSpace® vapor barrier was applied to the basement walls to help control moisture and humidity.
-
The sump pump was connected to a discharge line that carries water safely away from the foundation.
Structural Repair System:
-
To reinforce the bowing foundation walls, we installed the CarbonArmor® Wall Reinforcing System—a set of fiber-reinforced polymer straps that are stronger than steel and specially engineered to stop wall movement.
-
For additional support and long-term stabilization, we also installed the PowerBrace Wall System, which utilizes steel I-beams anchored to the floor and joists to straighten and secure the walls in place over time.
