Basement Waterproofing System Installation in Piermont, New Hampshire | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in Piermont, New Hampshire, had been dealing with repeated water intrusion in their basement, particularly during heavy rainfall and seasonal thaw. Water was entering through the bulkhead door and along the foundation perimeter, creating damp conditions across the floor. Over time, the moisture began to affect how the space could be used, making it unreliable for storage and raising concerns about long-term damage. Our inspection confirmed that surface water was entering through the basement entry point, while additional moisture was entering along the foundation walls and the floor joint. The lack of a proper drainage system allowed water to spread across the basement floor before eventually evaporating, leaving the area damp. It was clear that the solution needed to address both the point of entry at the doorway and the water collecting around the foundation.
Solution
To stop water at the entry point, we installed a TrenchDrain system to capture surface water before it could reach the basement floor.
Along the interior perimeter, we installed a WaterGuard drainage system designed to collect water at the floor-to-wall joint and direct it efficiently to a TripleSafe sump pump system. This setup ensures reliable water removal, even during high-volume conditions.
To improve wall moisture control and overall appearance, we installed the CleanSpace wall system. This directs any wall seepage into the drainage system while creating a cleaner, brighter basement environment. The basement is now fully protected from both surface water and groundwater intrusion. Water that previously entered through the doorway and foundation is now captured and redirected before it can impact the space. The environment is dry, controlled, and far more usable, giving the homeowner confidence regardless of weather conditions. This Piermont, New Hampshire, project demonstrates the importance of addressing all points of water entry when designing a waterproofing system. By combining entry-point drainage, interior perimeter protection, and reliable sump discharge, we delivered a comprehensive solution that keeps the basement dry and dependable year-round.
