Basement Waterproofing in Grafton, Vermont | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in Grafton, Vermont, had water entering their basement along the foundation perimeter. Moisture was visible on the concrete floor, especially near the wall-floor joint, and the basement needed a more reliable drainage system to prevent water from spreading across the space. Inspection During the inspection, our specialist found signs of water intrusion around the basement perimeter. The basement had a concrete floor, painted foundation walls, and several mechanical systems, making it important to create a drainage solution that worked around the existing layout. The inspection showed that the best solution would be an interior perimeter waterproofing system connected to a dependable sump pump. This would allow water to be collected at the source and removed from the basement before it could cause more serious problems.
Solution
Our crew installed a WaterGuard interior drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. The system was installed below the floor edge to collect water from the wall-floor joint and direct it toward the sump pump. A TripleSafe sump pump system was installed to handle the collected water and pump it out of the basement. Once the drainage system was installed, the concrete was restored over the trench, creating a clean and finished look along the perimeter. The discharge line was routed to the exterior and finished with a LawnScape outlet, helping direct water away from the home in a neat and effective way.
