Responsible Basement Waterproofing in Saxtons River, Vermont | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in Saxtons River, Vermont, was dealing with water intrusion in their basement. Water was entering along the base of the foundation wall, leaving damp areas on the floor and making the basement harder to use with confidence. The homeowner needed a dependable waterproofing solution that could collect the water, manage it properly, and move it away from the home.
During the inspection, our team identified active water intrusion along the foundation wall and floor joint. The basement needed a system to manage water at the perimeter before it spread across the floor. The inspection also showed that the homeowner would benefit from a wall system to help direct water into the drainage system while improving the overall appearance of the basement.
Solution
Northern Basement Systems installed a full interior basement waterproofing system designed to collect water along the perimeter and direct it to a reliable sump pump system. The project included the CleanSpace Wall System, a TripleSafe sump pump system, interior drainage components, and an exterior discharge line to move water away from the foundation.
- TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe sump pump system gives the basement three levels of protection. The primary pump handles normal pumping needs, the secondary pump provides additional pumping capacity during heavier water events, and the battery backup pump helps keep the system working during a power outage. This system is designed to give homeowners more peace of mind than a single-pump setup. - CleanSpace Wall System
The CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the basement walls to help create a cleaner, brighter appearance while also working with the waterproofing system. If water enters through the foundation wall, CleanSpace helps direct it down into the drainage system rather than allowing it to spread into the basement. - Interior Basement Drainage System
An interior drainage system was installed along the perimeter of the basement to collect water at the base of the foundation wall. Once collected, the water is directed to the TripleSafe sump pump system so it can be removed from the basement before it reaches the finished floor area. - Exterior Discharge Line
The discharge line carries water from the sump pump system to the outside of the home. This helps move collected water away from the basement and foundation, completing the waterproofing system and helping the home stay better protected during wet conditions.
The completed waterproofing system gave the homeowner a much cleaner and more dependable basement. Water entering along the foundation wall can now be directed into the drainage system, pumped out through the TripleSafe system, and discharged away from the home. The CleanSpace Wall System also gave the basement a brighter, more finished appearance. This Saxtons River basement waterproofing project is a strong example of how the right combination of products can address water intrusion. With the TripleSafe sump pump system, CleanSpace Wall System, interior drainage, and exterior discharge line in place, the homeowner now has a basement that is better prepared to handle water and remain a more usable part of the home.
