Basement Waterproofing in Whiting, Vermont | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in Whiting, Vermont, was dealing with basement water intrusion and needed a dependable system to manage it. The basement included usable space, mechanical equipment, and areas where moisture needed to be properly directed. The homeowner wanted a solution that could collect water, move it to a sump pump system, and discharge it away from the home. During the inspection, our team found signs of water intrusion along the basement walls and floor. The basement needed perimeter drainage to collect water at the base of the foundation wall before it could spread across the floor. The inspection also showed that a wall system would help direct moisture into the drainage system while improving the basement's appearance.
Solution
Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems installed a full basement waterproofing system designed to collect water from the walls and perimeter, direct it to a sump pump system, and discharge it away from the home. The system included CleanSpace Wall System, interior basement drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump system with UltraSump battery backup, IceGuard, and LawnScape discharge.
Products Installed
- CleanSpace Wall System
The CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the basement walls to create a cleaner, brighter surface while working with the waterproofing system. If water enters through the foundation wall, CleanSpace helps direct it down into the drainage system instead of allowing it to spread into the basement or continue marking the wall surface. - Interior Basement Drainage System
The interior drainage system was installed along the basement perimeter to collect water at the base of the foundation wall. Once water enters the drainage system, it is directed toward the TripleSafe sump pump system so it can be removed from the basement before it spreads across the floor. - TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe sump pump system provides three levels of pumping protection. The primary pump handles normal pumping needs, the secondary pump provides added pumping capacity during heavier water events, and the battery backup pump helps keep the system working during a power outage. This gives the homeowner a more dependable setup than a basic single-pump system. - UltraSump Battery Backup System
The UltraSump battery backup was installed to help protect the basement in the event of a power outage. When connected to the TripleSafe system, the UltraSump adds another layer of protection by helping the sump pump continue removing water during power outages. - IceGuard Discharge Line Protection
IceGuard was installed on the exterior discharge lines to provide an emergency outlet if the discharge lines freeze or become blocked. This helps water continue to escape from the system instead of backing up into the basement. - LawnScape Outlet
The LawnScape outlet was installed at the end of the discharge line to release water away from the home in a cleaner, more finished way. It helps move collected water out into the yard while keeping the discharge point low-profile.
The completed system gave the homeowner a cleaner and more reliable basement. Water entering along the foundation walls can now be directed into the drainage system, pumped out through the TripleSafe sump pump system, and discharged away from the home. The CleanSpace Wall System also improved the basement's overall appearance by creating a brighter wall surface.
This Whiting basement waterproofing project shows how several products work together to manage water intrusion. By combining CleanSpace Wall System, interior drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump system with UltraSump battery backup, IceGuard, and LawnScape discharge, Northern Basement Systems helped create a basement that is cleaner, more usable, and better prepared to handle water.
