Basement Waterproofing Peru. Vermont | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
A homeowner in Peru, Vermont, was dealing with basement water intrusion and needed a dependable way to manage it. Water entering through the foundation walls and floor made the basement harder to use and left the homeowner needing a complete system to collect water, direct it to a sump pump, and safely move it away from the home. During the inspection, our team found that the basement needed a full interior waterproofing approach. The space showed signs that water was entering along the perimeter, and the basement would benefit from both a wall system and an interior drainage system. The homeowner also needed a more dependable sump pump setup with backup protection and a proper exterior discharge arrangement.
Solution
Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems installed a complete basement waterproofing system designed to manage water from the walls and perimeter of the basement. The system included CleanSpace Wall System, interior basement drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump system, an UltraSump battery backup system, and an exterior discharge setup with IceGuard and LawnScape.
Products Installed
- CleanSpace Wall System
The CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the basement walls to help create a cleaner, brighter appearance while working with the waterproofing system. If water enters through the wall, CleanSpace helps direct it down into the drainage system instead of allowing it to spread across the basement. - Interior Basement Drainage System
The interior drainage system was installed along the basement perimeter to collect water at the base of the foundation wall. Once collected, the water is directed to the sump pump system so it can be removed from the basement before it reaches the main floor. - TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe sump pump system provides three levels of protection. The primary pump handles normal pumping needs, the secondary pump provides additional capacity during heavier water events, and the third pump provides battery backup protection. This gives the homeowner a much more dependable system than a basic sump pump setup. - UltraSump Battery Backup System
The UltraSump battery backup system helps protect the basement during power outages. If the power goes out during wet conditions, the backup system helps the sump pump continue removing water, adding another layer of protection for the home. - IceGuard Discharge Line Protection
IceGuard was installed on the exterior discharge line to help prevent backups if the line freezes or becomes blocked. It gives water an alternate escape route, helping protect the basement during winter conditions. - LawnScape Outlet
The LawnScape outlet was installed at the end of the discharge line to release water away from the home in a clean, low-profile way. This helps complete the waterproofing system by moving collected water away from the foundation.
The completed waterproofing system gave the homeowner a cleaner, more reliable basement. Water entering along the foundation walls can now be directed into the drainage system, moved to the TripleSafe sump pump system, and discharged away from the home. The addition of UltraSump battery backup, IceGuard, and LawnScape also gave the homeowner more confidence in the overall system. This basement waterproofing project in Peru, Vermont, shows how a full system can make a major difference in managing water intrusion. By combining CleanSpace Wall System, interior drainage, TripleSafe, UltraSump, IceGuard, and LawnScape, Northern Basement Systems helped create a basement that is better prepared to handle water and stay more usable over time.
