Basement Waterproofing in North Sandwich, NH | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
Water was entering the basement of this North Sandwich, New Hampshire, home, and the basement door provided an additional pathway for water to enter the space. The homeowner needed a waterproofing system capable of managing water at multiple locations while providing dependable pumping and humidity control. Northern Basement Systems evaluated the basement and determined that the solution needed to address both foundation water and surface water entering at the walkout door. The system also required dependable sump pump protection, humidity control, and an exterior discharge route capable of moving collected water away from the foundation.
Solution
Our crew installed the CleanSpace® Wall System to manage water entering through the foundation walls and direct it toward the basement's water-management system. A TripleSafe® Sump Pump System was installed to collect and remove water from the basement. At the garage-door entrance, TrenchDrain™ was installed across the opening to intercept water before it could travel farther into the space. A SaniDry™ dehumidifier was added to automatically control excess humidity in the basement air. Outside, IceGuard® was installed on the sump discharge line to provide an emergency outlet if the buried line freezes or becomes blocked. The buried discharge line terminates at a LawnScape™ outlet positioned away from the foundation.
Products Installed
• TripleSafe® Sump Pump System — Provides three levels of sump pump protection in one system, including primary pumping capacity, additional pumping protection during high-water conditions and battery-backup protection during power outages.
• CleanSpace® Wall System — A durable wall system that intercepts water entering through foundation walls and directs it toward the basement's water-management system while providing a clean, bright appearance.
• WaterGuard® — An interior perimeter drainage system positioned on top of the foundation footing and beneath the edge of the basement floor. WaterGuard captures incoming groundwater and wall water and directs it toward the sump pump system.
• TrenchDrain™ — A grated drainage channel installed across the garage-door entrance to capture surface water entering through the opening and direct it into the basement waterproofing system.
• SaniDry™ Dehumidifier — A high-performance basement dehumidification system designed to automatically remove excess moisture from the air and maintain appropriate humidity levels.
• IceGuard® — Installed on the exterior sump discharge line to provide an emergency outlet for pumped water if the buried discharge line freezes or becomes blocked.
• LawnScape™ Outlet — Provides a discreet termination point for the buried discharge line and releases pumped water away from the home's foundation.
The basement now has protection against water entering from multiple locations. CleanSpace manages foundation wall water, TripleSafe provides dependable water removal, and TrenchDrain intercepts water at the garage-door entrance before it can spread farther into the space. SaniDry controls excess humidity, while IceGuard and LawnScape complete the exterior discharge system. This North Sandwich project demonstrates the importance of addressing every pathway water can use to enter a basement. By incorporating TrenchDrain at the garage entrance with CleanSpace, TripleSafe, SaniDry, IceGuard, and LawnScape, Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems provided a comprehensive solution designed around the specific water problems affecting this home.
