Wet Basement Solutions in New Russia, NY | Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems
Challenge
Water was entering the basement of this New Russia, New York home. The homeowner needed more than a sump pump alone—the basement required a system capable of collecting water around the perimeter, managing water entering through the foundation walls, and reliably pumping it away from the home. Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems evaluated the basement and determined that an interior perimeter drainage system combined with wall drainage and dependable sump pump protection would provide a comprehensive solution. The exterior discharge also needed to carry pumped water away from the foundation while accounting for the freezing winter conditions common in northern New York.
Solution
Our crew installed WaterGuard® along the basement perimeter to capture incoming water and direct it toward the sump system. The CleanSpace® Wall System was installed along the foundation walls to intercept wall water and direct it downward into WaterGuard. The collected water then travels to the TripleSafe® Sump Pump System for removal from the basement. Outside, IceGuard® was installed on the sump discharge line to provide an emergency outlet if the buried discharge line freezes or becomes blocked. The buried line continues away from the home and terminates at a LawnScape™ outlet.
Products Installed
• WaterGuard® — An interior perimeter drainage system positioned on top of the foundation footing and beneath the edge of the basement floor. WaterGuard captures incoming groundwater and wall water and directs it toward the sump pump system.
• CleanSpace® Wall System — A durable wall system that intercepts water entering through foundation walls and directs it downward into WaterGuard while providing a clean, bright appearance.
• TripleSafe® Sump Pump System — Provides three levels of sump pump protection, including primary pumping capacity, additional pumping protection during high-water conditions, and battery-backup protection during power outages.
• IceGuard® — Installed on the exterior sump discharge line to provide an emergency outlet for pumped water if the buried discharge line freezes or becomes blocked.
• LawnScape™ Outlet — Provides a discreet termination point for the buried discharge line and releases pumped water away from the home's foundation.
Water entering around the basement perimeter or through the foundation walls now has a dedicated path to the TripleSafe sump system. WaterGuard and CleanSpace work together to collect and direct incoming water before TripleSafe pumps it out of the basement. IceGuard and LawnScape complete the system outside by helping discharged water travel safely away from the foundation. By combining WaterGuard, CleanSpace, TripleSafe, IceGuard, and LawnScape, Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems provided this New Russia homeowner with a complete basement waterproofing system designed for dependable, long-term water management.
