Matt sent out of his System Design Specialist for the customers FREE ESTIMATE. After doing the inspection the conclusion was made the best way to keep the customers basement permanently dry was to install a few different products. First Northern Basement Systems installed a CleanSpace Wall System. The CleanSpace Wall System uses a thick (20mil) white poly sheet material to completely cover basement foundation walls. CleanSpace is installed by fastening the material to the rim joist atop the foundation wall, and by installing press-fit plastic fasteners into the masonry. As part of your waterproofing system, it creates an effective moisture and vapor barrier. The wall covering forces all wall seepage and moisture to flow into your perimeter drain system. The white poly surface eliminates the need to paint basement walls, providing a bright, stain-resistant finish that never needs repainting or maintenance.
Next, WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect any water seepage from the wall to the WaterGuard. Finally a SuperSump Plus was installed to pump out any water in the WaterGuard. The SuperSump will take all of the water out of the basement and pump it away from the house down a discharge line. The homeowner now can finally enjoy a nice dry basement.

After a FREE ESTIMATE, in which two rotted wooden piers where found, the homeowner hired Matt Clark's Northern Basement System to both water proof and weatherize their crawlspace. A CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the entire perimeter, to take any seepage from the wall and bring it to the drainage matting. The drainage matting covers the entire floor and will bring water to the SuperSump Pump. The pump will then take the water to an IceGuard Discharge System and dicharge the water away from the home. The two rotted piers were replaced with galvanized steel SmartJacks. After everything was installed Matt's team sprayed closed-cell polyurethane insulation around the entire rim joists of the space and two feet down from the wall and painted the insulation with intumescent paint.
A homeowner in Montgomery, Vermont reached out to Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems regarding their crawl space. They were interested in weatherizing, but also concerned with the possibilities of what to do if they encapsulated the crawl space and a water pipe broke. First Matt's team would install a CleanSpace Encapsulation System. On the floor there will be drainage matting laid down with two SmartDrains and then completely covered in CleanSpace. The SmartDrains, paired with drainage matting will provide a system to protect the crawlspace incase of a pipe break, or leak. If there ever was a water issue it would channel through the drainage matting and drain to the SmartDrains, which are armed with water alarms. After the CrawlSpace Encapsulation System is installed Closed-cell Polyurethane Spray Foam insulation is applied to the entire rim-joist and partly down the walls. This will put the finishing touches to the crawl space weatherization, providing an excellent R-value of 6-7 per inch.
