Challenge
Water and excess moisture were affecting the crawl space beneath this Beecher Falls, Vermont home. The homeowner needed a solution that could manage incoming water while also reducing the amount of ground moisture entering the crawl space. Simply covering the crawl space floor wouldn't address collected water, so the solution needed to combine drainage, encapsulation, and sump pump protection. Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems evaluated the crawl space and determined that a drainage layer beneath a complete encapsulation system would provide a reliable path for water. A sump pump system was also needed to collect that water and remove it from beneath the home.
Solution
Our crew installed Drainage Matting across the crawl space floor. The dimpled surface creates drainage space underneath the encapsulation system, allowing water to move toward the sump location.
CleanSpace® was installed over the Drainage Matting to create a durable barrier between the crawl space and the damp ground below.
A TripleSafe® Sump Pump System was installed to collect and remove water from the crawl space, completing the waterproofing system.
