Damp conditions were affecting the crawl space beneath this Taftsville, Vermont home. Moisture originating from the ground, combined with elevated humidity in the crawl space air, created an environment that required a more comprehensive solution. The homeowner needed to isolate the crawl space from ground moisture while also controlling humidity and providing protection against unexpected water above the finished encapsulation liner. Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems evaluated the crawl space and determined that encapsulation combined with active dehumidification would provide an effective moisture-control solution. A drainage point was also incorporated into the system to provide additional protection in the event of an unexpected plumbing leak or other water entering above the encapsulation liner.
